Supercooling for Better Workout Results

We’re probably all too familiar with the feeling of getting too warm during a workout and it impacting our performance. 🥵🌡️🔥

But what if we could do something about it? And there was research to back it up?

Stanford researchers Craig Heller and Dennis Grahn have been studying the effects of thermoregulation on exercise performance and recovery. Turns out, the palms of our hands, soles of our feet, and face have special vasculature that make them efficient heat pumps. By “supercooling” these surfaces of our body, we’re able to cool down our core at a much faster rate. As a result of cooling the palms in between sets, Heller and Grahn found that athletes and non-athletes were able to lift more and further to a staggering degree. 🖐️ + ❄️ = 🏋️‍♂️📈📈‼️
